Dear Walker
As we approach the big day please find below further information about the walk.
The t-shirts are now available for collection from the school office during normal school hours. Any that are not collected will be taken to the starting points.
We are very excited about this year’s route from Wembley/East Finchley to Tower Hill and look forward to seeing all 570 people who have registered to take part this year. This will be our biggest turnout ever!
Please read Important Information for Walkers so that you are fully prepared and ready to enjoy the day. This includes information on how to get to both starting points, a link to the full route and MapMyRun links. Please wait until nearer the time to print the route in case we need to make any last-minute changes.
This walk is about having an enjoyable and sociable day together but it is also about raising much needed funds for a very special charity. The walk was created and continues each year in memory of sixth former, Jack Chester, to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Entry Fee & T-shirt sizes
The cost of entry is:
£18 for adults
£10 for students/children under the age of 16 and adults aged 65+
Your entry fee includes the following:
- Hit the Road t-shirt
- Water and refreshments at the start and middle of the full walk and at the start of the half walk
- Training guide and route
- Certificate
The following t-shirt sizes are available:

Methods of Payment
Our preferred methods of payment are:
BACS (DD or Bank Transfer) to Sort Code 30-14-24, Account Number 28815860 (The Campion School Business Account). Please include a reference using the format TCT-surname-initial
Card reader (situated in the school’s main reception office)
If neither of the above are possible then a cheque made payable to ‘The Campion School’ or cash may be handed into the reception office (in an envelope with 'Hit the Road entry fee', amount and name).
It would be appreciated if payment could be made as soon as possible after registration. The t-shirt order will be placed on Tuesday, 2nd April and any entries still unpaid following this date will be assumed to be withdrawn.
Route & Distances
The route for this year’s walk is still being finalised but we know the full walk will start from Wembley at 10 am and the half walk will start from East Finchley at 1 pm. The finish will once again be at the Brewdog pub near Tower Hill.
There are two official distances: 20 miles (full walk) or 10 miles (half walk) and our support team will be in attendance at both starting points. When you register, you will be asked to indicate how far you intend to walk. This is simply to give us an idea of how many people to expect at each starting point. If, on the day, you wish to walk less miles (or more!), that is absolutely fine.
Although these are our 'official' starting points for 2024, there is nothing to stop walkers starting at any point along the route, for example from Finsbury Park to the finish is approximately 6.8 miles or from Highbury and Islington Station, it is just over 4 miles to the finish.

Fundraising for the Teenage Cancer Trust
This event is about having fun and walking with like-minded people who are members and friends of our school community. It is also about raising as much money as possible for the Teenage Cancer Trust. It is never too early to start your fundraising endeavours. This can be done via our online Just Giving page which can be shared with anyone who might like to support your fundraising efforts.
